4uall ( jay) has a thread or post on this and he has the best solution that I have seen. Make your pun at the quality you desire.

I bought it and recently installed. Lotta work and I insulated the heck out of it but I was pleased. It's not like the original style but it's new carpet!

Yeah, I just installed that carpet too, after finishing off the whole floor. The carpet isn't the best quality but the price was right and it fit pretty good. I'll post a picture Monday or Tuesday. Got a lot going on this weekend.

Turns out the location is near Newark NJ in the town I was born in, about 60 miles from my home now. I had to go up that way so I stopped at their little factory and picked the carpet up.

It definitely isn't the "corn row" type of carpeting. Smooth and kind of thin.

I bought a set also and am having an issue installing. Did anyone get directions? I didn't. I am having an issue determining which piece goes next to the driver or passenger door. I figured out all the peices except for this. Does the bigger end go forward or backward? I think the bigger end goes backward, but it seems like it does not fit correctly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

But the peices on the outside seem to be reversed? If the peices would have been cut straight, maybe. If the little cut out at the narrow end goes toward the rear of the car, it does not fit. You cannot get that edge flush with the rubber molding under the door.

Davery,

These are the $169 ones off Ebay right? I can help I think. I just finished my floor.

If you have your old carpets it will help by laying the new pieces over the old.

Anyway, in the picture above I think the the two outside pieces are reversed, assuming they are carpet side up. See the little cut outs? They go over the bump at the rear of the seat brackets on each side and roughly fit the contour of the bracket. You'll see what I mean.

When I laid the new pieces over the old the new ones were cut much bigger, particularly the 4 side pieces. I trimmed them down to about the size of the old. Big mistake and there was no going back.

Fit the four side pieces first, you might want to trim them a little, but let the excess go down onto the flat floor, and up into the footwell sides and so forth. Once you have these 4 pieces fitted the way you want, put down the flat pieces. Then if you want to trim some excess you can do it then.

I don't think the origninal carpets fit all that good up in the footwells. I think there were gaps and exposed areas. Remember you are working up close and see every detail. Once everything is down it will look fine. No body but you will be peering up and under the petals.

I'll post some pictures of mine later today if I get a chance.

Let me know how it works out.

I did not include all the pieces when I took this photo but you get the point.

Waiting for nice weather to cut and put in new carpet myself from Lowes or The Home Depot. I have always been told to go with marine grade that has the rubber backing which will prevent fraying when cutting (always cut from back to front) here is an awesome link for fabricating http://forum.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtop ... &sk=t&sd=a

I thought those were reversed in the picture. Thanks for the advice, I waited to trim until after I put the peices in the car. The passenger side went in much smooother than the drivers side. All those hoses and wires on the drivers side make a very uneven surface.

i live right in the carpet capital of the world. 80 percent of the worlds carpet is manufactured right here in Dalton, GA
i am going to start nosing around and see if i can buy automotive carpet in bulk, any color. i would be willing to help you guys match the color you are looking for if you are ambitious enough to cut your own templates. i suppose you would have to install your own piping also (which is probably available here as well in many colors) let me know what you think. i will update after my scouting trip.
