help on couple things

Post by Weelan »

I'm putting the single plane intake on my 79,
I have this part that I believe delivered coolant to the intake?
Image
should I pour this whole thing back on? There we tons of hoses all plugged that were attached to it before. On the new intake there's only one of the dual prong hose plugs. do I need the whole piece? Or is there another way to do the coolant?

You do not need that.

On the passenger's side there is a metal heater pipe that runs under the exhaust manifold toward the water pump. Near the firewall there is should be a small hose that runs from the pipe's nipple to the intake side. You can use that hose to hook into the coolant nipple on your single plane manifold.

Ok cool, I appreciate the pic to show what I'm looking for. do I need to get a piece of hose for myself for that?

so now do I need to attach something to the double nipple plug on the top in the middle of the intake? Or cap those off?

Oh they go to the distributor vac right? I have a hose with a branching that has the 2 for that and then does the other hose go to the carb?

That double nipple is a sensor. You don't need to hook anything up to it.

I just ran a vacuum line from the distributor to the carb.

Here's a thread that might help you out: http://fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php ... 00#p132723

Ok sounds like I can just leave it as it is.

What goes in this big hole? Do I need a nipple off my old intake for that?

Originally I believe that was for an ERG pipe. You can simply plug it. Ace Hardware or Napa sell M16 x 1.50 oil drain plugs that work just fine for plugging.

Ok thanks.

What'd you do for the tube that flows through to the exhaust side? I need to do something to one of the sides right?

And what'd you connect the oil dipstick to now?

I installed FI exhaust manifold and downpipe.

>And what'd you connect the oil dipstick to now?
I installed a dipstick sleeve and bracket from a FI car.

Ok thanks. You've been a huge help. I thiiiink I'm good now. Not sure what I'm going to do for the exhaust side. Could I remove the exhause side of that flow through and put a small sheet of metal between the tube and head? I think that could work if I can get it off.

Dang... Got 2 more questions for you...

I have 2 nipples on the intake I don't know what to hook to them

And I have these 2 hoses that I don't know where to put. One comes from the vapor canister, the bigger one from under the intake somewhere.

Big one
