Has anyone used this product on their Spider. If so, did you meter it into the engine while it was running as recommended? And again, if so, how did you do this?

The first thing i did when i got my 82, was put a can in the gas tank. Good Stuff. I have never put it in the engine oil. If i did i would change the oil 2 times afterwards.

What are you trying to accomplish with it?? I consider it a bit of a snake oil. There are professinal products much better. Again, what are you trying to accomplish?

I have some on standby for this weekend. I have spoken to a lot of people and like everything else some are pro and some are con. My car is 32 yrs old so I have no issues giving it a try in both the gas and oil. Here is a good video I found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt_oXKxe3wo and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjXViwb97qc I'll post after I have completed

The information on this product that I have read and heard suggests that it will remove carbon buildup in an engines cylinders. I know that I have some buildup in 1 and 2. My son used it in his 4Runner but was wondering about using it in a Spider.

Well "what product" depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are trying to remove carbon from the compustion chambers GM makes a product "Top Engine Cleaner" which is much more potent then Sea Foam. It is also bad for you, read the directions and use in a ventalated area. I have done comparison tests on cylinder heads and pistons and the Top Engine cleaner is much more effective, the Sea Foam seams to do nothing to the carbon.

If you are trying to clean injectors, Ford makes a very effective product, sorry don't recall name, just ask for inj cleaner. It is very pricey and you get what you pay for. NAPA make an injector cleaner with Techralein (?) which is good stuff.

Why you would put Sea Foam in your engine oil is beyond me, but people do it. Oil belongs in the crankcase.

TOp Engine Cleaner.... Get engine hot, dribble into carb with engine running, enough to stall engine after a moment. Pull plugs, add some TEC to each cylinder, put plugs back in just to seal hole. Let sit over night. remove plugs,, you may hydrolock engine with pl;ugs in. Put old rags etc over plug holes and roll engine over a coule times, by hand if possible, to clear cylinders. Now plugs back in, start engine. Oh my goodness it is gonna smoke and stink. Better hope there is a breeze.

Wow sounds like the same thing you do with Sea Foam. Why oh why do people spend money on over priced cleaners for motors.
Have used sea foam and pulled the head after to see if it worked. You bet it did smoked for about 15 minutes after I started it and idled smoother the longer it ran smoking. As for using it in the gas tank it's there to help keep the valves clean. Most fi cars spray directly at the valve so walla self cleaning. Carb is the same principle. It's just like all the detergents that are added to the gas at the stations. Non of it is good for you.
