I believe one company is Visco and they are out of Cleveland, Ohio they supposedly make a piston with this exceptional coating that significantly reduces piston/cylinder wall friction. I think the other company is out of southern California and thet are called either JE pistons or JC Piston. I am trying to plan an engine rebuild and am putting a list together to source parts. Thanks.

Re: Anyone ever here of these custom piston manufacturers
you're probably referring to Wiseco?
Both Wiseco and JE pistons are well-known and good quality. They've both been in the business for a very long time, and both have developed some cool metallurgy and coatings into their products. For the most part, you can believe their claims.
(My experience with Wiseco has been mainly very-high revving motorcycle, and my experience with JE has been big-inch drag motors.)
With either manufacturer, look at the specs of the pistons for what you're buying, but trust that you'll get exactly what they've advertised.

I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

Hi maytag
Thanks for figuring that one out, my mechanic mentioned building up an engine for a customer and said that these Wiseco pistons were incredible, thanks for the reply.

Re: Anyone ever here of these custom piston manufacturers
I was under the impression that the piston rings wore against the cylinder walls and not the pistons themselves.
