Welcome Leesfer. What's the story on your '82? How'd you find it, what kind of shape is it in? Post some pictures when you can. Where are you located? Nosy, ain't I? Ron

Re: Noob! :)
heya all again... I bought my fiat because I'm heading off to college and needed a new car and I was looking around and the Fiat caught my eye (because who doesn't love a spider ). I've always wanted one so I ran down and offered 3000 for it and the deal was done.
Its mechanically excellent! I just put a new muffler and took the resonator off and I'd like to change the airbox with a freeflowing airfilter.
The body is in good shape, too. It needs to be reapholstered and the black inky so good because it was an earl schwab job and it used to be a beautiful blue, and that's what I'm going to go for again with an actual nice paint job this time!
I'll put pictures asap

Re: Noob! :)
Congrats on your new toy! We too went with the original color on the repaint.
There's just something magical about preserving some original details. During
our fiasco of The Paint Job, I discovered the original paint color code is located
inside the trunk lid. Also learned that the paint process will ruin the convertible
top, if done by a moron; and that if any rust was not properly handled, it will
bubble thru many coats of clearcoat no matter how much they cost. Moral of the
story? Go to a Paint and Body Master. Wish I could recommend one to you...
Wish we did our homework before trusting my first-born to an amateur.

Looks great! wish my car was so nice. How bad are the seats? I see covers, that either means preventative or the originals are done for... I also read that you say it needs to be reupholstered.
Re: Noob! :)
Th drivers side is done for, but the rest of the seats are fine... except they are bright blue haha not much of matching
