Inline fuse

Post by FordPrefect »

Hey guys, I've been trying to track down the cause of my weak spark, and this inline fuse has me stumped. Here is a picture of the inline fuse holder (by the accelerator pedal) and also the fuse itself, which is wound wire, not at all like the others in the fusebox nor the other inline fuse holders. Pictures

Any clue what it is? Where to get a replacement, or if it's even necessary? Some of my wiring diagrams mention a 25A inline fuse, but I can't find it on the diagram. I think the fuse is good, but I'm not positive.

That item is not a fuse, rather a resistor. It is the temperature gauge resistor that is in-line between the temperature gauge sending unit in the cylinder head and the temperature gauge at the dash. It has nothing to do with the ignition system. Clean it gently, reinstall it, and you will find your gauge reads the temp more accuratly.

Ah, thanks. I thought it was more like a resistor.
