I'm just trying to get some info on buying one of these cars. Need to know what to look for in a used 1980 Fiat. common problems, fair price, etc.
Thanks everyone!

it's easier for you to find one and ask us if the price is fair (with a lot of pictures and information). It's hard to give you a fair price since the condition can vary so much.
For starters I'll mention that a 1980 can come in the carbureted version or the FI injected version. If it has a carb on it, you'll need to find out if it is the original or an older (better) one. there seem to be about 8 million other things to look for, but it's friday and I'm not about to get into where rust is bad, etc....

There's a very interesting and informative subject over on Mirafiori.com titled "Dennis McGrath's unofficial 124 price index", it's not exactly current, but it sure seems to be right on the mark. Lot's of interesting stuff in it.

rust. watch for rust. nothing else matters if it is rusted.
everything else is repairable or replaceable. which is not always the case with rust......especially structural damage.
did i mention to watch out for rust?
