Do you have to pass a visual, a tailpipe, or both tests?
The California folks have a lot of experience on what will pass and what won't. For example if you have a good working cat converter then you can get away with higher compression.

I'm pretty sure there's a visual inspection as well. Phoenix is as tough as Cali because of the high pollution here in the Valley.
It's ok, I have all kinds of emission parts laying around, I'm sure I'll come up with something.

daily driver, eh? I hope you work outside and are aclimatized to those nice balmy July afternoons that phoenix is so famous for. :roll:

Our commuter car for the past 5 years is a 1986 Honda Civic with no A/C and standard everything.
Luckily, I have an A/C garage, and underground parking at work, just a 15 minute drive from Scottsdale & Bell to PV Mall area.
Even in 115 degrees, I can make it. :wink:

The rest of the year is great! It's beautiful now.

I feel bad for you, cars older than 25 yrs in Georgia do not require smog test nor titles!

It's because Phoenix is in a valley and all heat and pollutants tend to linger. Outside of Phoenix, it's pretty much all emissions-free in AZ.
