Thank you Chris! That was the step by step that I needed!!narfire wrote:Have you pulled the cold start off and seen if it pushes any fuel for a couple of seconds?
To see if there is a signal to the injectors a noids light will do that. I bought on for about $15 and was for a geo tracker. That size fit and worked great.
Check the injectors... undo the 10mm holding the regulator on and the 4 -10mm holding the injectors in place. With a rag over the starter perhaps a helper will crank while you see what if anything is comming out of the injectors.
If you do pull the whole lot out of the car, perhaps consider changing the injector hoses. They do get brittle and can leak onto the starter and alternator.

Re: Well... won't start...
Hope I'm not to late to jump in here, I've been working over in Ventura for a week.
To check the fuel pressure I used a liquid pressure gauge and a couple of fittings that ended in a 5/16" nipple. at the line. I pull the hose off the cold start injector and put the gauge on it. Be careful, wrap a rag around the hose when you disconnect it. If it's pressurized it will spray out pretty good. I couldn't agree more about the noid light. It only takes a second to hook it up and it tells you immediately if the injectors are pulsing. You can also use a stethoscope on the injecors, you should hear clicking. You may have said and I missed it, but is the fuel pump running when the engine is cranking?

Re: Well... won't start...
since it ran when he parked it, I doubt it has a failed part. A noid light will tell you it's getting power and ground but won't tell you the injectors are stuck. I'd pull the first injector connector, test for power and if it's good, manually ground the other side. You should hear the other injectors click. If you don't hear a nice solid "click" then they're stuck

I had 3 years ago this problem. Bad groundconnections and /or injectorconnections...check the fuel injectors pulse...

Re: Well... won't start...
It is running again. Stuck injectors was the culprit... even the cold injector was stuck...
I checked the grounds, all were fine, clean and tight. No luck there...
Then I followed the suggestion from BEEK. Using a portable battery and some cables, I put 12 volts to each injector (unplug connector and then taping the contacts in the injector with two wires) until each injector started working (until I could hear the injector click several times)....
If I was to keep the FI I would really need to send it to get it clean properly, replace all seals and hoses... but I am going with Mark's carburetor solution... so as longs as it runs while I get the carbs, I am a happy camper.

THE INJECTORS MAY BE STUCK, use 12v and click the injectors, the injectors get about 5 v and 12v will free them up.... just an idea, also make sure the black wire that is attached to the pink wire on the coil is plugged in
