My fingers are corssed for you. I "sold" a Honda Cx500 to a brother in law (now ex-brother in law) in '77 or '78. Still waiting. :cry:

This is a good thread, though. I'm into my engine now, on the stand, gutted, and it helps having a play-by-play for a complete rebuild.... Like Brady's monumental restore thread. Invaluable. :wink:

I am always reading the updates and new threads :D just that since the car is parked at a friends garage, I have not worked on it to finish it. That is about to change in a couple of weeks when I bring it home. 8)

Hey, I just started on the very same thing! (Picked up a Dremel rotary tool that should make things much easier to begin with!)

Wire brush and degreaser is all it took. I am going with what I found out to be a very controversial topic in this forum :wink:

Ah, I see! haha I am going for the "as-close-to-polish-as-I-can-do-on-my-own" look, so there will be a little more work involved. Here is my progress so far:

I have a ways to go, but I think in the end I will put a clear coat of engine enamel over it and it might hold up for a while.
