If your cat converter and your resonator are still intact, you can go without your rear muffler and it will not be overly loud but will sound fantastic. I just removed my perfectly good muffler because of a break in the exhaust pipe leading into it and I love the way it sounds. It has a nice throaty rumble under back pressure and sounds like a vintage Ferrari under power.

I haven't purchased a muffler yet because apparently they are hard to find the right size. I have a turbo on there now and I went and bought another turbo with a 2.5 inlet which is what the muffler shop told me I would need. However, I need to find one with a center inlet not an offset inlet. I didn't know this and the guys at the automotive shop tell me the muffler can be turned around so that there will be a center inlet.

The muffler guys claims that the reason my muffler blew up was because it was on in reverse but I am pretty sure it blew because of it running so rich.

What do you guys think or know about turbo mufflers?

My Fiat mechanic said if I was doing a free flow exhaust he recommended 2 1/4" pipe from the header to a high flow cat or resonator, then 2 1/4 to the back with a high performance Turbo muffler. He wrote down model # BR 91914, I am assuming that is for the turbo muffler.

Let me know what you find for turbo mufflers. I didn't have much luck finding the BR part #.

So I went to a different muffler shop and they welded her on there with no problems or concerns. Glad to have my baby up and running again. Thanks once again everyone.
