I recently replaced the fuel lines on my spider, but I don't recall doing anything with the hose in this picture. I was wondering if anyone would happen to know what it is for and what it should be connected to.
The hose is underneath the intake manifold and just above/forward of the starter motor and solenoid. In other words, it is behind the alternator. One end goes into nothing, obviously, but the other is connected to what looks like a pump or diaphragm of some sort on the engine block. There is another hose leading away from that.
Thoughts?
Here is the hose.
Here is the pump and two hoses coming into it. Shown in the bottom of the first photo and left side of the second. Sorry about the quality, but I wasn't trying to take a picture of that part in these photos.
Thanks!

Re: Mystery Hose
That sounds like the mechanical fuel pump. Was an electric pump installed in your car and the PO was lazy about it maybe?

Re: Mystery Hose
That looks to be hoses going into and out of the mechanical fuel pump.

Re: Mystery Hose
no problem there
just if you want to use the pump.then replace them
thats the input and the other should go to the carb
