how to replace transaxle donut
I need to replace the donut on my new 77. The one that's in there is in pretty rough shape. How difficult is this job for a mechanical idiot like myself, although Ill have help from someone with mechanical experience. I couldn't fond any write ups on the forum.

On a scale of 1 to 10 this is about a -1 job. Just DO NOT CUT THE BAND UNTIL INSTALLED

I found this to be a simple job. Just don't forget to cut the band once installed
Like I did. It will remove itself at about 60 mph and scare the crap out of ya.

So am I led to believe that its just unscrewing the bolts on the old one and popping it out, replacing it with the new one then clipping the metal retaining band? Any thing else I should know?

Just that you'll need to turn the driveshaft to get to all the bolts, so support the car by the rear axle and have the tranny in neutral.
