i need more heat

it's cold and i'm still trying to drive her daily but damn it's cold==
i have a 180 degree thermostat-- would a 190-195 degree give me more heat?????

she don't overheat at all == if it's 30-40 degrees outsider she dosen't even get hot enought to open the t-stat and the fan never runs when it's this cold.

I dont know what to tell ya bro, you might try flushing your heater core. I flushed mine when I replaced the control valve and it will roast you out at 30 deg. Thats about as cold as its been here.

Your temperature switch for the radiator fan is set to about 190°. Your Tstat is opening before 180° so that it will be fully open at 180, not hot enough to activate the fan. With a higher temp stat you'd get hotter water through the heater core, and if it's got good flow it will literally roast your feet. Your engine will also like it because the higher temperature makes for better combustion.

It sounds like your t-stat is partially stuck open? The car should at least somewhat warm up. How far up does the temp gauge go?
The cheap solution is to put some cardboard in front of the radiator. You can slide it in from the engine compartment. Put it on so that it does not cover the area covered by the fan, so in case it idles for a long time and the fan comes on, it can pull some air through.

After about 5kms i usually just let the draft-draw flow of heat keep me warm and its been as cold a -14 sofar this year, with the fan on, i start to sweat or have to ride in a t-shirt. There must be something afoot as there cars can get very warm in the winter when they are sealed up tight. And also, i have to move the lower duct up a couple inches after a time in the fall, when im still wearing sandles, as the heat gets too high for bare feet. One fiat i had was missing the contoured panel inside the heater system that forces the airflow past the fan, this made a huge difference when i put this piece back in. Also if the foam surrounding your heater matrix has been removed/fallen apart, this too would allow a bunch of unheated air past the matrix...
