Lost Key! (FML)

Post by Hamush »

I hope this is in the right subforum.

anyways, my neighbor lost the only ignition key to my 1973 Spider 850

anyone has any advice on what course of action to take?

Is it difficult to remove the lock itself from the housing it's in? it looks like it resides in a solid tube and i tried moving it and id didnt budge too much. I have gotten it out by an inch, but Im afraid of breaking the wheel lock, though it is not locked in.

i was thinking of taking the cylinder over to a locksmith in hopes he could make me a duplicate.

i have seen some locks for sale online, but right now my main question is HOW TO GET THE DARN THING OUT??

thx

to remove a lock you need the key
turn it to MAR and push the button in the hole on the bottom

call the locksmith have him pick it in the car and remove it
then he can make a key
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

If it's like the 124, you can remove the rear part of the switch with the electrical terminals. Inside is a washer that has the key code stamped in it. A key can be made from those numbers.
