This has been discussed quite a bit. No one so far has been able to come up with a cure. Several suggestions were thrown out, but no one ever came back and said something worked. Fiat218 is right, they aren't sealed, at all. So really the only way to stop it would be to seal the case completely. That would mean also sealing around where the light plugs in, then it would be a hassle to change the bulb. So that route hasn't found much favor. I do know a cure though: Move to the desert. I live in the Mojave desert and have never had condensation in my gauges. This cure has a down side though. You'd have to live in the desert.

I've drilled extra holes in the casing. Haven't put it on the car yet to see if that worked.

I had issues in oregon with this. never worked on a solution because it was never bad enough to deal with.
These gages arent sealed and i'm not sure you could seal them. This may have been tried, but a divers shop has stuff you can put on the inside of your mask to keep it from fogging up.

I usually drive my car with the headlights on all the time so the heat generated by the light bulbs usually fogs up the lenses for a short while when the humidity is high. Smaller guages are the worst. Once the heat from the bulbs dries out the guages, it goes away. Can't see my guages at night anyway so I realy only notice it during the day :D

I"m thinking of putting a ' T' connection into the defroster line and route it behind the gauges or right into them maybe with a
petcock style shut off or a ' gate' style cutout.

If the heat from the bulb is making them fog up it may be a good idea to use LED's. They are cooler.

Has anyone converted thier dash guages to LED? Would love to know how it turned out because I'm up for trying anything that would acutually light up my guages so I could see them better at night!

I wonder if Rain-X would solve the fogging problem? Has anyone tried this?

A 95 amp will do wonders lighting up the gauges, making your air horns "toot" real quick, your windshield washers move at a normal rate, you can run the eipers, the fan and headlights all at once, etc. Here is a link to a quick video of what happens to your windshield wipers when you hook up a 95 amp alternator. This is on the coupe. I now have one on the spider, too, and everything electrical just works better.

Forgot to add that the 95 amp has done nothing to help the guage moisture issue - especially here in Houston's humidity!
