Unidentified Bolt and Washer

Post by mchalem89 »

I'm working on rebuilding my engine and i've come across a large bolt and washer that I've forgotten what it's for. Please help me identify it.

I'm not sure if it is or not. I put the timing belt back on with another large washer for the tensioner spring. Here is a direct link to the image that is much larger and more clear.

If need be I will take a picture of what I have so far showing the bolts and washers I've used so far.

Bolt looks like its for the hood support prop mounted to the center of he hood.

Washer could be the one that goes in front of spring tensioner for the timing belt bearing holder. Clear a mud?

I have that same bolt sitting in my nuts and bolts box waiting to see where it went. I haven't put my hood on yet.

Now that you mentioned it...I should have known as I recently took my hood off to repair some paint that was lifting.
There is a washer on the hood side of the plastic ring.

You guys are a life saver! Thanks a lot!

Do you by any chance know what the recommended torking of the timing belt tensioner and associated components are?
