2 l engine

is there any way a person can tell if the engine has been modified
seems the 2 l i have in this 72 is like peppy as hell .. and quick
with out removing anything

are your pistons domed?
or mabey cam has been switched?
and witch carb do you have?

those are some mods to search.

i am just comparing the alfa i own, that a new rebuilt stock 2 l engine with fuel enjection and that a dog lol
the 72 fiat has a 2 l and that one peppy engine
i will have see what carb

pull a spark plug and look at the piston for a dome
you can pull the intake cam cover and write down and cast numbers

you can make a pretty peppy 2.0 using stock parts. use stock 1800 pistons with a small valve relief, use an 1800 head, now you have raised your compression racio quit a bit. use a 34mm carburator on a 1800 intake. this made 115 hp on a superflo dyno using nothing but stock parts

Very true! I did that when I was poor. Wait a minute... I am still poor...

That raises CR from 8.1:1 to about 8.6:1. Better than nothing, but I would not say quite a bit.
Depending on how high the pistons go, one could deck the top of the block for even higher CR.

2L motor in a 72', that 72 has the 4.30 rear end and that alone will add some git up and go! I have no clue what the alfa has in it.

ok thanks , so a 4.30 in a 69 with a duel carb 1608 and mods , will fly
