looks like a B @#^H to replace it on a 1980 2000

If it's the carb model, it's not that hard.
1979 Fiat Spider (since new)
2005 Lincoln LS (the wife's car)
2003 Chevrolet Cavalier (daily driver)
1999 Honda Shadow VLX 600
1972 Grumman Traveller 5895L (long gone).

ya it the carb. there just alot in the way or maybe i can do it from under the car

Under the car.

thanks, i have not tried yet , but i dont think i can do it above, can't even see the pump

I took mine out when I replaced my master brake cylinder. If you haven't done your master cylinder you could do both at the same time.
