KN Air Filter

Removed the old air filter, and popped on the new KN filter. Fits perfectly, however cant seem to figure out how to now attach the old hoses. I realize the directions say tape over or plug the small hole, done. However I got nothing running into the filter from the larger hose. I called KN based on their instructions that were included since I needed to purchase a T splitter. Got it today, opened it, and the thing is maybe 1 inch by 1 inch. What the heck am I suppose to do with this thing? !

most auto parts stores sell adapters aluminum and plastic

well im thinking the tee fitting goes under and bolts up with two inlets sticking out
one small and one big
