Weber Water Choke Issues

Post by mountainspider »

Can anyone tell me where the two hoses should run off of the Weber water choke. One is running over to the exhaust manifold side into a tube. I believe this one is right. But the other side where would I attach this one. I have a 1979 Fiat spider 2000 with what I think is a 28/32 ADHA.

There should be a mess of emission stuff near the firewall that is attached to the intake manifold assuming you still have the stock 79 manifold. One of those spickets off that mess of tubes is the return for the water choke.

There should be a small nipple coming out of the intake manifold, as mentioned at the back of the motor between the intake runner for number 4 cylinder and the firewall IIRC. One other tip-sometimes you can get an air bubble in the choke housing and it won't heat up and release the choke. As you are filling it up doing the proper procedure to bleed it, pop one hose off for a moment, let the air clear and jam it back on as the water is coming out. PB

All the emissions hookups are off. Is the nipple look like it is part of the intake manifold but on the very end towards the back of the motor. This looks like a obvious place for the hose to go.

Thanks for all the help on this forum. It funny my car is yellow just like Sunracers.

Yes the hookup is part of the manifold right near the manifold bolt closest to the firewall.

Thanks for all the help. I am new to the spider world, was yellow a stock color? I am in the process of changing interior from tan to all black. The top that came with the car is tan was that also a factory match for the yellow spider.

Mine was repainted in a FIAT color, Chrome Yellow, but I don't believe it was ever used on spiders. No idea what top it came with it was just a very tired painted shell when I got it. What color yellow is yours?
