I'm looking at replacing all my calipers with rebuit ones.
Why is the pricing for calipers all over the board. I see 27 bucks for a centric 141.04001 front caliper up to 69 bucks for the same part number.
Is one reman better than another? I see cardone for around 40 bucks for a reman front.
Rears are a little more, like 75 to 96 bucks. I want to get the correct part but its hard not to take a serious look at a 27 dollar part versus a 96 dollar part for the same part number. Something just tells me the 27 dollar one is inferior or something?
My piston was pitted in one front so I thought I better just replace them both to be on the safe side. I have one back one with a stripped bleeder so I though it better to just get the whole shoobang and be done with it.
I have replaced the master cylinder and all hose, just waiting for the calipers.
Please feel free to help me out with a little advice or opinions.

Re: Caliper Prices
I can't speak for the other brands, but the A1-Cardone ones thet I bought were junk. Two or the four had stripped bleeders straight out of the box. I pulled the piston out of one and it looked like they has sand or bead blasted the piston bore, it was very rough and the piston was sloppy in the bore. I ended up returning them and rebuilding my old ones. For my other car, I was lucky enough to find some brand new ones on Ebay at a reasonable price.

Thanks, I'll look around a little more. I may not have a core for the one of the rears, I think the left because of the bleeder screw really bad condition. That may throw a wrench in the purchase also.

Re: Caliper Prices
They'll probabily still take it as a core, I've seen remans with the bleeder holes tapped out larger with an insert, (of course they were A1-Cardones).

Re: Caliper Prices
I had the opposite experience.I got Cardone rebuilds for my front from O"Reilly, and they were fine.I bought my rears from a reputable vendor, and they had a tapped bleeder, that leaked like a sieve. Not the vendors fault, and they immediately made good on it.I think you have to take them on a individual basis.

Re: Caliper Prices
I am getting mine from Mark (Allison's). I figure to pay a tad bit more, but my confidence is higher that they will be good.

Re: Caliper Prices
Thats where I am kinda at. I can get a full set of centric rebuild calipers for real close to 150 bucks without shipping charges added. Some places I see are close to 325.00 for centric rebuild calipers. I assume there is only one centric rebuild facility, so why if they are rebuilt at the same place = the price difference. Is there a real difference if they are OEM caliper rebuilt by centric?
