1st annual SO CAL Turkey Trot

Post by So Cal Mark »

Okay gang, it's time we took advantage of this amazing fall weather! Next Sunday, Nov 25th. Meet at Starbucks in La Verne 10am-1030am. First car out promptly at 11am. The run will be up Mt Baldy to the village, across Glendora Ridge Road and down Hwy 39 thru San Gabriel Canyon.

The Ridge Road has been closed for a few years due to slides and fires, and it's now open. I did the drive today and it has great views, really fun drive

Directions to Starbucks on Foothill Bl in La Verne; from the 210 fwy take the Foothill Bl exit and go east. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light, Starbucks is on the left side.

Please respond if you can make it!

Is this the first California FLU chapter kick off event??

I will plan to be there. I will be driving 100 miles to the starting line, so please let me know if anything changes. How about an off line list of contact numbers for any participants that contact you (or me, for that matter), so we can keep each other informed about any unplanned events? I'm at 805-338-1767.

We had quite a day! 6 cars on the run, several cars expected to make it out didn't show up for various reasons, but a manageable group. We got a late start after having to repair a couple of cars prior to the run, but everyone made it thru to the end, so it all worked out. Had a great time along the ridge route. Here's the first batch of pics, more to follow;

Looks like a fun ride.Are those like 20'' wheels on the one Spider? That is a really unique look.Kind of like pininfarina meets "pimp my ride". I like it! Craig

What kind of wheels were those? Weird. I'm interested only because I have a set of 15" 4x100 pattern wheels I want to use, maybe that guy has a source of adapters. I know I can have the adapters made, I just think there no point in reinventing the wheel if someone already has made a set and can make more.

he did have adapters made. I'll find out his source and post it. I did talk to a couple of vendors at the SEMA show that said they could make them also

Six Spiders on the first outing. I call that an extremely successful venture. I know without asking that you guys had a good time. Any women folk attend?

Super start !! Keep it up. the benefits are well worth the effort.
