vacuum/electrical manifold connections
vacuum/electrical manifold connections
Hello, just bought a 1976 124 spider and was wondering what looks like two vacuum connections behind the carb are and what they hook up to. also would like to know what color wire the carb connection goes to Gray/red?, and the sender unit on the under side of the manifold what wires connect to that? I have a blue and what looks like a pink wire also a brown/black all comming out of the same bundle.... the car was running a few months ago before being taken apart by someone else now I'm not sure about things. also the engine ran about 4000rpm at about 60mph and going between 70-75mph it ran over 5000rpm! is this normal? how can I lower the rpm's at speed? thanks

Re: vacuum/electrical manifold connections
Hi, thanks for the info, I found same stuff on other sites excetpt for the 1976 which is a little diffrent... i belive unit 18/4 (thermostatic switch for ignition mode relay} in the electrical diagrams is what is under the manifold it has a blue and pink wires going to it. as far as what the two vacuum ports between the carb and head are couldn't find any info about them. I think I'll just plug them off and see what happens.
