I thought i registered here once before. But with all this talk of the site being back up, did it self destruct before and maybe took my old reg with it..what happened to the old site. Thought this might be useful for us not as much in the know as you regulars..
Anyway proud new owner of my second fiat . A 78 "Verde" 124 spider unmolested from original owner, 43000 miles. Heavily "ziebarted" ( it worked) and garaged all its life. ..
Had a red 70 128 sedan as my first car back in 76 and took me another 30 years to give Fiat another try. It handled great and was a blast to drive. But I went thru 4 or 5 of my sisters hair dryers during rainy days on the ignition system and it rusted out from under me. Typical spot under the battery tray right thru the supporting area for the sway bar. It liked to take sharp left turns everytime i hit the brakes..fun.. when your 16....
Found the spider in May of last year and love it....Had a luckily, small mishap in August but that's for another time......
Great to have a site like this. Just wanted to say Hi!!

welcome ray,
I have a similar story. My first car was a new '71 128 sedan. While I was shopping for it, I fell in love with the Spider. It took me 26yrs, but I finally got my spider and I love it! It seems like everywhere I go, I get compliments. People walk by new Vetts and Miatas and come over to talk to me and my Spider (isn't nostalgia great). That's not to mention how cool it is to preserve automotive history. happy motoring
