1980 FI Fuel issues?

I just aquired a 1980 FI Spider with 74000 miles on it from my father. My dad got it about 7 or 8 years ago and the fuel pump was in the trunk it just sat that whole time. So I bought a fuel pump put it in and it works just fine but still is not starting. I sprayed starter fluid in the intake and it will start and run. So I know it is a fuel issue still. I was just wondering what would be my first start to lookin into this? Or what could be some common issues?

the injectors may be gummed up, preventing fuel from getting into the cylinders. I'd first check to see if the injectors are pulsing when cranking or running on starting fluid
