I just replaced all the vacuum lines and fuel lines in my 78 spider and got her running again. However there is a small fuel leak, just a few drops when running at the lever/cam for the carb. There is also a little fuel i can see by the fuel filter. Is this most likely a bad diaphragm? That might explain the first leak but at the fuel filter too? I am having some fun learning how to get images to post here but the link below should let anyone see it. The parts circled are where I can see the gas dripping, once every 5+ seconds, pretty slow but still not too good.

Fuel Leak at level/cam for carb and filter
Re: Fuel Leak at level/cam for carb and filter
Your fuel line leaks are from using the wrong size hose or clamp or insufficient tightness, or more risky the the brass fittings in the carb are loose, not an uncommon problem. The solution is to check them and twist and or pull them out. Then get some JB Steel weld epoxy. You can also use a round punch or chisel, and use to SLIGHTLY expand the the end that goes in the carb. Put some epoxy around the tube end that will go back in the carb, far away enough from the open end so it won't get in the line or into the fuel opening in the carb and tap it back in with a hammer. You should be left with a nice little bead around the tube where it meets the carb body. This is a good precaution with all old weber carbs.
The pivot you are referring to is the lever that actuates the accelerator pump. I think you are finding fuel there because it is weeping out of the accel. pump housing. This is held on with 4 small screws which may be loose, but more likely the accelerator pump diaphragm which is behind this little cover is damaged and should be replaced. These come in a carb rebuild kit or may be available separately from a specialist FIAT or Weber vendor, like weber carbs direct or Pierce Manifolds.

Re: Fuel Leak at level/cam for carb and filter
I currently have 1/4" from the fuel pump, to the filter, to the carb and back through the check valve in the fuel return. Anyone know if 1/4" is too big? The brass fittings seem to be tight, i can't get them to spin or pull out, and the clamps are very tight, so must be too big of hose?
Accelerator diaphragm is bad, I have the carb repair kit on the way, only $28 from AutoZone, not too bad at all.

Thanks for the tip on the photos, looks like I have that down now.

Screwdrivers are not always the way to tighten those up. A 1/4" socket, in 1/4" drive, is sooo much better. If it leaks there, either the clamp not tight, or the brass fighting loose.
