I am doing some advance planning. In about 1 month, my suspension and interior work will be coming to an end. My tranny needs to be removed and repaired (no 2nd and 4th gear).
My question (loaded as it may be) is.....at 110,000 miles is it worth my time/money to do ANYTHING to the motor. Does not leak oil and runs strong. It is a 1981 2.0L FI. I am not looking for a street racer or to "dump" thousands of dollars into the engine. Just curious is there are some small things like head gaskets, exhaust gaskets that need/should be changed. The timing belt was changed about 5k ago from the PO.
Thanks!
Robert

Re: Engine Rebuid?
I had my engine partially rebuilt (new rings, bearings) about 140000 miles ago. The only reason I had them do that was they had to take the head off and replace several seals and gaskets. I've had no problems since.

Agree. Enjoy it as it is. There will be a time when repairs will be required, but not today!
