This is the beauty of putting in the wrong rear crank seal. Having a 1978.5 car is a PIA. You don't know if you need earlier or later parts.

?? I thought all the rear seals where the same.
Tip #1: Flywheel holder: You need one long trans to block bolt, one crescent wrench 10" or 12" and one clutch bolt. Install the trans bolt thru the eye of the crescent wrench and into the top left bolt hole in the block, now thread in one clutch bolt into the flywheel. The wrench should hang down in front of the flywheel, now rotate the crank/flywheel CCW until the open end of the wrench engages the clutch bolt, taaa-daa, torque reaction bar. Now torque down the flywheel bolts.
Oh, ya, impact guns should never be used to torque bolts!

Is that Mark's exhaust system? I don't have bumpers and wondered how much it would stick out, if it is what Mark sells and you did not modify the length...

I believe it is 18" long. I fabricated the harness and brackets. I'm having the pipe done locally. I don't know how far Mark's exhaust sticks out. I think if you go to his site and click on the link to hear his systems, you can see how they look.

I got a lot done today. I took the tranny and oil pan off. I checked out the inside. Here's what it looks like. I media blasted the oil pan and took out the dents. the drain plug didn't want to come out. I had to use vise grips. I ordered a new one.
I also media blasted the brake parts and dust covers. I acid etched them and primed them. Now time to go to work.

I finally started the hood liner today. Here's a pic. It is so hard to get this stuff even and smooth on the first try. After waxing and using a release agent to make sure you get a good release. It just doesn't want to attach to it. But I got most of it on the first try. The more I try to cover the open areas the more I open. So I just let it go.

Time to do the brakes. I have the back calibers apart and found that the shock washers fit perfectly in the piston holes in the front. I put two there to fully cover the piston hole. I found another washer to fit in the back. I put a bolt through the washers and tightened it up just enough to secure it. Tomorrow I'll media blast the calibers. I took the emergency brake bracket off. It really needs blasted. I used aluminum tape to cover the shaft twice to protect it.

Stupid Mistake
I just got the rear rotors done and started to work on the front. I remember reading to watch the piston could fly across the room when putting air to get them out. I tried the first piston out and it just came out a little. I tried to pull it out and couldn't so I grabbed the second front. I wasn't thinking and put the air to it. It came out all right. Guess where it went?
Not very far since my fingers were between the piston and caliper.
Oh my! I couldn't get my fingers out and it hurt like hell. I grabbed the C CLAMP and called for my wife. The clamp was to small to use. I ran and got a large screw driver and it wouldn't pry. I turned the screw driver on its side and was able to pry just enough to pull out my fingers. I'm thankful both fingers were in there or I might have lost the middle finger tip.
I won't do that again!
