Points and condenser question

Post by chico »

Ok so the question I have is that with a duel point system does only the right side fire? I replaced both points and condensers and still only the right side fires. I switched the white and green wire left to right and only the right side fires. I put the old right hand condenser on the left side and still it did not fire. My gap is 15-16 the car seems to be running fine but I'm curios to as why it seems like only the right side fires. Any answers would be fantastic Thanks Rob

I am no expert on this but yes. The two point system is one for cold start up (more advanced) and one for running. This is why many go from the two point system and convert to single points or electronic. Make sure your vacuum canister is working by sucking on the end of the hose. If you suck any air it's busted
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!

Ok that makes sense thanks. Question is which vacuum canister are you referring to? I'm probably missing it in my engine compartment, my car has been somewhat modified, and not in the good way....lol
