Carb breather hose

Got a question. Got a new air filter housing from Vicks what do I do with the existing
Breather tube that went on the old air filter housing. It has a spot that seems to be were it would go but the inlet pipe
Is much smaller. Does the breather tube actually need to go to the air filter? Any help would

I think you can buy one of those smaller breathers to put on it.

Crankshaft ventilation hose? anyways I'm just allowing it to be off to the side with a sock on it to prevent dust and other contaminants entering the crankshaft housing. Thanks Rob
