A dollop of stop-leak in with the ATF will help the health of your seals.Image

So what is the overall wisdom of you Fiat Wizards ??? AFT in the idler or 90EP oil ... or a mixture. I took off my idler and it was nearly dry ... a lot of metallic "crud." I am going to reassemble with "oil" and if that doesn't work I will buy a new/replacement from one of our vendors.

So ... oil or ATF for now ??

Thanks for your help.

ATF is basically synthetic oil (hydraulic fluid, also similar to fork or shock oil).

Can the front of the car be jacked up to effect a proper fill without removing the damper from the firewall?

Maybe if you take the bolts out, you may be able to angle it without jacking the car up. It may take two people to do it. One to hold and the other to fill.
