Fuel filler white chalky deposit

I've sent my tank off to have it cleaned, and have various other fuel parts to clean and have this white chalky deposit in the fuel filler pipe.

It doesn't completely come off, but wiping with a finger does leave a slight chalky deposit on my finger. Should I clean this out? how 'clean' should it come? I'll be cleaning it, anyway, but wanted to know what it may be and how much I need to scrub it.

It's Ethonol, the biggest crime/joke the petroleum industry has going. It eats up orings and seats in carbs,plugs jets and filters,lowers MPG,raises food costs(turn our food into fuel? There's logic for you )
Run a can of seafoam once a month to keep it under control.

Not ethonol, see it in a lot of older cars. Clean it out with a wire brush. Fuel system should be pretty dang clean to ensure good fuel pump operation, take your time getting it clean now will pay off in the long run.
