Oil leak

Post by nibbes123 »

Can someone help me out. I just installed a rebuilt motor in my car but have a small leak at the drain plug, anyway to stop the leak?
Thanks
Nick

You could try teflon tape on the plug, also I've had to resort to one of those rubber plugs that expand when you tighten it and it worked. (It wasn't on my Fiat though  )

Thanks Nick, I've done both methods and they worked for me.
I'm still looking, but I'm waiting to hear back on a thing or two. I haven't even got a nibble on the car yet, I thought that would happen at the price I've got it set at, and that's OK, as soon as I'm working regularly I wouldn't need to sell it anyway.
Thank you for your concern.

Yeah, I assumed these things were like spilt case cars (air cooled VWs, Porsches). If they're not leaking, how do you know there's any oil in them?
