ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH THE DRIVESHAFT SPRING?

I removed the driveshaft bolts around the "doughnut" aka GUIBO aka Flex-joint to give the engine a little more room while taking out the oil pan. right before the bearing was a spring that looked mangled up. I removed it and now it makes a perfect key-ring. But where do I find a replacement? ? Image<P>Image How important is this spring? I didn't notice a difference while it was all mangled up in there...

I think that is the tranny spring. I don't know what that is called that's deteriorated.

There should be the yoke, washer, nut, spring, seal, spacer, and snap ring.

Bruce's is the only catalog that shows the pieces (not well) http://www.fiatparts.com/fiatcatalog.pdf, page 28 , items 20-22,, The one from IAP is different than the one you are showing. Ask me how I know :D
