I have an electronic tach in 1978 124 Spider that doesn't work (ever) although the light indicators for ignition work fine. I pulled the dash and checked each connection for power..the only one which seemed to not have any juice going to it was at the top connector, it looked black and white, but the last electrical diagram I saw called it yellow/black (maybe it's my color vision!)... in any case that wire was only about 3" long and then entered a rely and all the wires on other side are colored differently.
I am NOT an electrician and cannot follow an electrical diagram. Any one offer some assistance...where does that wire from the top of the tachometer go next...so I know what to go look at.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Tachometer help needed
White/black is a common connection between the horn, gauges, hazard switch, some others.
You need to learn to read a wiring diagram to work on a FIAT; they aren't hard to follow.

Thanks Brad,
I give similar advice to my clients, i.e. if they want to participate in software design sessions they really need to learn how to understand UML flow diagrams...I suspect we both going to be equally successful.

If you can read UML you can read a wiring diagram.
