Valve cover bolt gasket

So I had to take the intake valve cover off to correctly set my timing. I reused both valve cover bolt gaskets, only to find the rear is leaking. I begrudgingly ordered a whole bunch of new ones as shipping was $10 for a $0.40 part. In the meantime, what can I use in place to seal the bolt? I have tried a few drain pug washers but have had no luck. I need a temporary solution that will last me another week or two until the proper part arrives.

Hey Adam,
Just go to AutoZone or Pep Boys and buy a roll of paper gasket material and using an exacto knife cut some out. I cannot remember their exact diameter but putting like a quarter down and cutting around that, then placing a nickel inside of that makes a neat gasket. Your domination of money may very.

how many u need, i just removed some the other day, are u talking about the rubber seal under the hex bolt that holds the cover down,

hell it takes a week for the mail to go from the states to u anyways lol

I tried a piece of cork from a autozone gasket kit, I'll check to see if the kit has a paper filter and try that. I have 9 gaskets on order, I just want something to work as a temp fix until the proper part arrives.

Most hardware stores carry an assortment of fiber washers.

I found some in a chev 350 gasket rebuild kit, dont ask what they were for i never had to use them.
