so i pulled the plugs = just to check them out and noticed white coloring on them- is this the motor running too lean or too hot of a spark plug
it runs great but would jetting the carb help

What plug is it? Is your timing correct? What carb are you running? The plug may be too hot, the timing may be advanced too much or your carb may be running too lean. Vacuum leaks can also cause a problem.

If it is running great, I would let sleeping dogs lie. Why mess with it?
Or you could go to a colder plug and see if it colors up a bit.

What fuel are you running ? Been sneaking in any "Racing Fuel" or aviation fuel to boost the octane ? Hard running on leaded fuels wil give you a very pale lead deposit on the plug. What colour is your tailpipe inside ? black or grey ?
