Repair Shops Recommended in Lower NY?

Post by opus10583 »

Hi,

Thanks to this forum I think I have an exhaust manifold flange upper stud oil leak, thanks to an unscrupulous previous owner I need this sort of repair: http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... sis+repair, along with a shock tower replacement.

Can anyone recommend a shop or shops in the Greater NY, lower Westchester County, area with the skill and desire to make these repairs?

Thanks,
Mark

shock tower replacement? Ouch, might be cheaper to find another spider.

Mark are you running gas shocks?

Found a place, they're fixing a lot of what the previous owner and wanted felon called "surface rust"; one holed shock tower, reinforcing both lower rear trailing arm mounts and remediating the BS pop-rivet patches under the driver's seat. Not cheap, not going to kill me; all but gutting my HC pistons, street cams and big valves fund.

Gas shocks not yet, still sitting in the pile of parts I'm currently living among in a small NY apartment, along with the VAS Sport springs.

hello,

I can recommend a few shops in LIC/Queens that might interest you. I have been having my car serviced at one in particular, and have been generally pleased with their work. There are also two others that I've noticed to have unique classics of various manufacture's around which might make good shops for our Fiats.

You can email me if you're interested.

Hi,

Thanks. I've got it sorted out; a great place just up the train line. My car's nestled in among OSCA's, Lancias and Maseratis, and might actually be done this week.

Thanks,
Mark
