linkage on the carb

got a 69 fiat 124 , ,took the carb off a year ago, forgot how the linkage goes
it the push rod type, snaps together and the other end of rod slides in the hole holder on the fire wall,
press the gas peddle , rod comes up twist the other one that connects to the carb, , simple haahahah
but i can not figure it out, or i have one piece i can not find, any close up pictures for this

I would assume it's similar to the 72 I have in the shop. I'll take a few pics of the linkage tomorrow for you.

Rod side with spring goes into the bushing in the firewall. Other side of the rod goes into the bushing held by the cam box.

The rod coming up from the gas pedal, through the firewall, hooks to the rod with the spring. When you push the gas pedal it goes up and rotates the rod counter clockwise. The rod has a short rod connecting it to the carburetor. When the rod rotates counter clockwise the carburetor throttle is opened.

The whole assembly sucks. I think most things are Spiders were engineered very well (perhaps implemented poorly during assembly, but the engineering was good). That early throttle assembly is not a good example of engineering. It is complex and prone to surging. If the bushings fail (rare but replace them if they are ancient) the damn thing can seize up.

Hi, I found this post while searching for "throttle bushing". I just got my spider and it appears the bushings are not there or worn badly, because I have to push the throttle about 1/2 way before it actually starts to move the carb. the first 1/2 of the movement is just moving that rod up and down because the holes in the bushings are too big now.

Where do I find those bushings?

have you posted pix of your car yet in the "show us your car" thread! there are a few phoenix spider people that post here. what part of town are you in? I probably have some of those bushings, but mine are guaranteed to be worn. If no one responds, i can take a look at mine.
