what size is that nut on the steering wheel ,so i can remove one?

ok thanks. reason why i asked is because im 80 miles from my house and have no tools with me and i got this car that i want to remove the steering wheel to get the arms off undernieth

A close enough socket is 1". I've successfully used the 1" to move steering wheels around both my cars.

I just put the stock style back on mine yesterday & it is 15/16"

I didn't have a 15/16, but did have a 1". 24 MM is 0.945 inches. 15/16 is 0.9375. 15/16 is closer (0.01" vs 0.06), but not so much that I worried about it.
Depends what's in your tool box. I wouldn't (and didn't) go buy a socket if I had either one, especially because the nut doesn't bind like a bolt in the engine. If you're going to buy a socket, get the 24 MM.
