2000cc motor 1800cc body will it fit

I have a question probably been asked a few times I have a 79 I need to sell the motor is great but the body is terrible I have a 78 with a excellent rust free body will the 2000cc motor fit a the transmission and be the motor mounts and would it be a lot of alterations to make this work second question will weber 40 dual doce carbs fit on either of the cars with out modifications I have read some thing about having to move the brake booster

the motor will fit the mounts and tranny, the issue is the height of the motor. Distributor clearance is vs the hood is nil. If you have the whole 79, swap the crossmember along with the motor. The carbs won't fit without mods

Thanks this helps alot but the transmission do I need to use the 2000cc or can I use the one in the 78 what would have to be replaced at that time and the rear end would this be a issue

Sorry you answered part of my question,you mean I would need to use the cross member from the 79 on the car

The transmission is OK (it's the same). The crossmember from the 79 will have to be used to lower the engine so that the hood will close. Or, you can keep the crossmember, and not use the hood.
