I saw that. Makes it look better even though its getting covered by the carpet but you'll always know if you didn't do it. :D

Brady - which Eastwood product did you use? Do you think 9 sheets is going to be enough?
Finally, after you've used this stuff - or the other similar products, how do you keep your carpet from slipping?

Hi all,
I don't think one box is enough to do the floor and the tranny hump. http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-thermo ... erial.html
I'll let you know today after I'm done with the first box how much it covered. I would like to do the interior of the door. I don't know if all doors are the same inside. The ones I have have supported interior structure which doesn't allow any deadening material to be place where it wood be useful. A spray probably is the best way to go. http://www.eastwood.com/flex-263-sound- ... -aero.html
Carpet adhesive will work to hold down anything you want on top. I also have a heat shield I purchase long ago. I don't know if I'll be installing it too.

It took me 2 boxes of "Hushmat" to cover my firewall and the passenger tub - I did not do the doors. I wasn't worried about the doors since the main reason I put the material in was for heat control, not sound deadening.
The carpet adheres to the Hushmat/Dynamat, etc. with basic spray adhesive as well as it adheres to the floor boards.
It's looking good Brady!

Thanks Kevin.

For nine sheets which is one box I was able to complete what is shown in the first two pics.

I decided to do the bottom of the trunk. It sounded like a hollow tin can. It took one sheet to do the bottom and I had a little extra left over you can see in the battery area. I hope this is helpful for someone. :P

I'm still working on the turn signal light brackets. I'm making them adjustable so I can move the light inward, outward, side to side, and top to bottom. Just in case I don't like the way they look. As of now I think they look best sticking out some.
I have some foam around the light to hold it so I can get measurements. Here's some pic's.

Almost done. I just have to paint the second bracket. I like the way they came out.

Now that I got the lights done, I just ordered some carbon fiber fabric to cover the bumberettes. I want to get them done before it gets to hot.

I finally got the spring on the clutch pedal with the help of my pain in the Haas. Really... that's his last name! We used my hoist and the 400 lb. press. We chained the spring to each and lift the hoist. It worked so easy. We used nickles to hold it open. Once on, I used my hand and pulled upward on the spring and used needle nose pliers to pull out the nickles.

I finally got the second back bumber trimmed to fit. I received my carbon fiber in the mail today. So as soon as the weather cools down. I can't believe I'm saying that. I'm going to cover them with 2 sheets of carbon, sand them smooth, and clear coat them. Here's pic's. How do you think they look :?:

Brady, I think those are looking great! Not to mention your entire treatment of the back end of your car.
Keep those updates coming, I've read all the way back on your build & am following the progress with great interest.

I bought some carbon fiber finally to cover some things on the car. The cheapest place I could find was here.

I'm doing the bumperettes first. I wish I just did this out of a good mold in the first place. I doing it the hard way. I'm covering the bumperettes I already made for the car.
I was able to lay the fiber on the bumper in one piece and work it to cover nicely. It takes some caressing though. You just have to be patient. This is what the first covering looks like.

I made a holder out of anything I could find. I was planning on doing two at a time. Since it takes a bit of time, I'll probably just do one at a time. I have the second layer on now and it is drying. I'm planning on lightly sanding the bumperettes then clear coating them with the clear left over from my other projects. I'm excited to see one finished and one the car. They will look great with the color of the car.
