Hi all, my name is angelo and i'm on my second spider, the first one i bought from a small town near ottawa, drove it back to Toronto that same day, got stranded 10min into the drive, the original owner was nice enough to help us out, turned out the coil had blown, loved the car, met a the top mechanic in toronto and ended up buying one of his own personal cars. its a 79 fiat spider, new 2L high compression motor, dual idf40 carbs, 2 inch exhaust, 5 speed tranny with a rear diff from an automatic, its like having 6 gears. the is black with red hood and truck and has the abarth wheel arches, not the fack ones, but the real ones. bumpers are gone and replaced with the bumperrets, again made from rubber and not plastic knock offs. i have 13 magnesium cd30 rims, coat me a pretty penny but worth it. Koni yellow shocks all around with 1" anti roll bar front and rear. Racing seats and a momo sterring wheel complete the interior. The car was stripped down and rebuilt in 94 and still looks amazing, i just oredered some velocity stacks and cant wait to drive it!

Looking forward to the forum, ang.

Hello Angelo and Welcome!

From a description like that, you've got to show us a photo or three!

Nothing like buying a car from a mechanic; just don't lose his phone number :? Those auto diffs in a car with extra power are sweet. First gear now usable for driving instead of pulling out stumps. Cruise in 5th all day. Did you buy a "translator" for the speedometer, or just memorize what RPMs = MPH?

Hey, there's been some discussion about the measurable benefits of velocity stacks on the IDFs. Might want to Search for it.

I memorized the rpm/ kph.....the nice part is cuzing at 120kpm and turning at just under 3500 rpm, its the sweet spot of the motor and i have plenty of torque to pass. I will try to upload some pictures, ang.
